GUIDED HORSEBACK TOURS AT THE REINDEER FARM

​Do you have company coming to the Valley? Or maybe they’ve been here for a while, and you’re looking for something unique to do with them? Or perhaps you have a birthday party coming up, and your little one loves horses? No worries the Reindeer Farm has you covered with their guided horseback rides up The Butte.

Our guided tour takes you up the scenic Butte on our private trails. From the top, you can see almost the entire Valley spread beneath you. Farms, rivers, glaciers, mountains, perfect for any outside guests. And quite frankly most Alaskans are astounded at the top as well. Once you’ve had your fill of the views, you’ll ride back down to the Reindeer Farm.

We host trail rides 4 times a day 7 days a week. Guided rides are scheduled as follows 10:00, 11:30, 1 pm and 3 pm,  beginning in May and continuing until September first. Each round trip is an hour long horseback adventure.

We require all of our horseback riders to be 7 years old to ride. All riders must wear close-toed shoes as well. We strongly encourage everyone riding to wear long pants because there are bushes, trees, and grasses along the trail. Mosquito spray is also highly recommended, nothing can ruin a good day on the trail like of a cloud of mosquitos.

What about the weather? We do not ride in heavy rain or wind for the safety of our riders, our animals, and your guide. Any trail rides scheduled on a day when the weather is too dangerous for trail rides will be rescheduled at the earliest convenience of the riders.
