Short answer – yes.
The Summer Reindeer Farm Experience is available daily from May 1st- September 1st. We are now accepting walk ins daily from 10am-5pm. Most people are spending 1.5-2 hours on the farm to see everything. We recommend arriving by 4:30pm to have enough time to explore. The Summer Experience is self guided, so you can start as soon as you arrive. In the event that we sell out of admissions, the only way to guarantee entry is by booking an appointment on our website. However we do not anticipate reaching our maximum capacity during our 2022 Summer Season.
The Winter Reindeer Farm Experience, Santa Tours, Fall Family Fun, and others will ONLY allow admission with a reservation.

No, sorry.
Admission fee and waiver signature is required to enter beyond the admission booth or gift shop area. Once beyond this point you may explore at your leisure. Because we are a USDA Inspected Facility we are required to keep a staff member with you when you interact with our animals. For your safety, and the safety of our animals you must have a staff with you when feed animals. However during the summer you can explore the farm for as long and in whatever order you like.
Our Winter Reindeer Farm Experience is still a guided experience.

Very very rarely we choose to cancel or reschedule tours due to weather. Most often due to icy roads.

We do have umbrellas for you to borrow, or we also sell shoe covers and ponchos in the admission booth.

Mostly importantly, definitely bring a camera or smartphone. You will have tons of opportunities to take photos of feeding the reindeer, moose, and other animals.
Next please dress for the weather. Wear closed toed shoes and long pants. We do not recommend sandals or white tennis shoes. We do not recommend white pants, loose skirts, scarves, or lanyards. If you choose to wear these things expect the reindeer to chew on your clothes.

Yes, because we have to have a staff member with you at all times we do require an admission fee. This admission covers paying our staff and also helps us feed our animals through the long winter months.

Yes our tour is wheelchair and stroller accessible. There are ramps into and out of the gift shop. Some people have had trouble getting their wheelchair or stroller into and out of our colony barn. The length is like a long walk around Costco.

As of May 1st 2022 our Summer Reindeer Experience does not include entering the pen to feed the reindeer. You can still feed the reindeer over the fence and pet them and take photos with them. They love the attention!
After many years of people entering our animal pens and not obeying our pen rules, we decided to change our tour to feeding over the fence. The reindeer are a lot more comfortable and happy this way. Thank you for your understanding.
For those people that it is really important to enter the animal pens, we will continue to offer the Grandpa Tom VIP Tour. This 2 hour guided experience will bring you in the pen with the reindeer, highland cattle, and alpacas. This tour will have a limited number of participants (10 people per tour) and participants will be limited to ages 10 and older. By limiting the age and number of people participating, we can make sure our animals are safe and comfortable with the interaction even inside the pen.

Unfortunately we can no longer allow kissing the moose. All of our moose are rescued through the Alaska Department of Fish and Game. Fish and Game has asked that we do not allow the public to kiss the moose to prevent transmitting diseases.
You can still smooch the Reindeer and Highland Cattle on the snoot! But we must respect the regulations given to us from Fish and Game to keep our permit intact.
